Gobber is the blacksmith of the Hairy Hooligan tribe. In The Dragon Tournament, he also becomes the announcer for the first dragon tournament. He owns a ram horn, which he uses to signal the beginning of a round or bout.
In the books, he is the soldier in charge of the Pirate Training Programme. He has taught most of the Hooligan warriors.
